Yes, I definitely love working in my studio. Everything is under my control, we can take as long as we need, there’s a coffee machine (crucial!!) and we don’t have to worry about the weather.
However, when the weather is good I do like to go outside if it fits your personal style – if you are in any sort of creative business (actor, singer, designer, speaker, …) this is a more obvious choice, but even for fields that are a little more conservative, an outdoor headshot with gorgeous, soft natural light can work wonders. For many people, being photographed outside is also less daunting than in a studio as we don’t usually have a ton of equipment with us and the atmosphere is a whole lot different.
Below are some examples from a session in Volksgarten with Franziska who is a teacher and an artist.
