Flower Portraits

A little something different today 🙂

I’ve been coming up with interesting ideas for workshops, at the request of participants of my beginners’ workshops. So the first “advanced” one I am teaching will be about floral photography.

Basically, we’ll take supermarket bouquets to bits and rearrange them, put them in position and compose our shots, and experiment with light: Reflector or no reflector, backlighting, flagging, natural versus tungsten light etc. There will also be some colour theory and definitely lots of hands-on experimentation!

So of course I needed to practice a bit, so I can show what it’s all about, which I did yesterday. To my surprise, initially I found it a little difficult to come up with ideas, but after I had started, it became easier and easier to take photos I really love!

If you’re interested in learning how to do this, send me an email at mail[at]idavickers.com – the women only workshop is on September 22nd, 12:00 – 16:00 and costs €120 including materials and snacks.

Looking forward to seeing you!
